Kicking
Horse Classic
The ultimate whitewater in the Canadian
Rockies!
The Kicking Horse River near Banff National Park is
a whitewater experience unparalleled in the area. Wild
whitewater, spectacular scenery and wildlife make this
the adventure of a lifetime. Start your day relaxing while
you meander through the beautiful upper scenic float section
of the Kicking Horse. This is a great opportunity for you
to practice your paddling techniques and get accustomed
to your raft before you hit the whitewater. First we hit ‘Hopis
Hole', a class three wave guaranteed to get you wet and
put a smile on your face. Five minutes after hitting ‘Hopis',
we stop for a delicious riverside steak barbeque lunch
. After lunch is when the exciting whitewater trip begins,
(also the start of our half day trip). Afternoon trip begins
with 'Portage and Shotgun' a kilometer
stretch of Class 4, followed by many more Class 3 rapids.
At ‘Last Waltz' (class 3) our photographer will be taking
your picture and you can check them out back at our base!
